The Transition Daycare classroom is among one of the most important times for your child’s cognitive development. Academic, cognitive, social, and emotional skills are created in this gentle transition with the nurturing characteristics of the younger toddler classroom with a broader developmental focus. Children of this age are actively seeking out information and rapidly learning spoken language during this time. A two year old child craves independence, knowledge, order, consistency and exploration of their environmental surroundings.
During this transition time, we work with each child on building self-confidence, personal discipline, fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and potty training. Children learn to listen, follow directions, share with others and to help provide order within their environment.
This phase focuses on Sensory and Practical Life tasks as well as social grace and courtesy.
